Learning to Loom

I am a newcomer to loom knitting, having spent most of my yarn-related life doing crochet and liking that rather well.  But, one day I saw some loomed socks and decided to try out a loom.

Like most people who venture into loom crafts, I began with a set of round looms.  The ones I bought were the Darice looms and I got them from Amazon for a low price.  These are the large gauge round looms that require a bulky yarn or using two strands of worsted held together. I still use these looms for some projects, but I soon found them rather limiting.

Since then, I have added several different types and sizes of looms to my collection.  I have worked at translating traditional knitting patterns and adapting them to the loom.  I have worked on the Prym sock loom and made it do things it was never meant to do.

But, I am still an amateur.  What I share is simply the things I have learned and the things I enjoy doing.  If you find anything here that is helpful, I will be very pleased.    So, don't expect that I will be the go-to expert on everything loom-related.

I am just the Raving Loom lady.
